Dr. Appiah-Kubi earned his doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology from Wright State University’s School of Professional Psychology in Dayton, Ohio. He completed his internship at The Ohio State University’s Counseling and Consultation Service and received postdoctoral training with Providers for Healthy Living. His extensive training and leadership experience allow him to provide thorough assessments and tailor recommendations to meet the unique needs of each client. In addition to his expertise in psychological assessment, Dr. Appiah-Kubi has a diverse clinical background. He has worked with children, teaching empathy, impulse control, and anger management, while equipping parents with positive discipline techniques and strategies to foster healthy development. He has also provided therapeutic support to adolescents in residential treatment facilities, young adults in college counseling centers, and individuals of all ages in community mental health settings. Dr. Appiah-Kubi’s therapeutic style is integrative and values-based, focusing on what matters most to his clients and collaborating with them to achieve meaningful change. His approach draws from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Interpersonal Process Therapy, and Multicultural Counseling.
